ScammersCheck is a free, independent scam detection service built to help the UK public instantly identify fraudulent phone numbers, websites, email addresses, and suspicious messages — with no signup, no account, and no cost.
We select evidence checks that apply to the input and may combine reputation data, public blocklists, technical context, local analysis, and community reports. We never claim certainty we do not have — our verdicts are indicators, not guarantees.

Data sources
Different inputs use different evidence paths. The sources below are examples of the checks that may contribute to a verdict when they are relevant and available.
URL-reputation data used when a submitted URL can be checked for phishing, malware, social engineering, or potentially harmful applications.
Multi-engine URL analysis for a primary URL, subject to provider availability and the input being suitable for URL analysis.
Phone, email, or IP reputation evidence and community phone-spam information for the input types these services support.
Registration data, certificate history, hosting-IP reputation, and structural domain analysis provide contextual evidence for relevant URLs or email domains.
Relevant URL domains can be compared with public phishing, spam, malware, and indicator-of-compromise lists when those services are available.
Pattern, domain-anomaly, and phone-intelligence checks analyse relevant input locally; contextual analysis can help explain applicable content and returned evidence.
Rate-limited, unverified scam and safe reports are considered with safeguards; phone-number reports have higher thresholds before they can affect a verdict.
How verdicts work
Our five-tier verdict system weighs the evidence returned for the relevant input. Data coverage reflects how many applicable source categories returned usable data; it is not a probability of safety or fraud.
Known Threat
Confirmed by one or more authoritative threat intelligence sources. Avoid all contact.
High Risk
Multiple strong signals indicate fraudulent or malicious activity. Exercise extreme caution.
Suspicious
Some signals suggest potential risk. Proceed with caution and verify independently.
No Threats Found
No known threats detected across our sources. This is not a guarantee of safety.
Unable to Check
Insufficient data to produce a verdict. The entity may be too new or obscure to assess.

A "No Threats Found" verdict does not guarantee that a number, URL, or email is safe — new scams emerge daily and may not yet be indexed by our sources. Sender addresses from suspicious emails — detects spoofed domains, known phishing senders, and compromised accounts.

Paste the full text of a suspicious SMS or message — our AI extracts and checks any embedded phone numbers or URLs.
